DIGITAL SCREENING VS DIGITAL DIAGNOSTIC MAMMOGRAPHY

MCAI is the first outpatient imaging center or hospital in the Naperville/Aurora area to offer Digital Screening Mammography with Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD). Digital Screening mammography is offered to asymptomatic women in efforts to detect cancers at sizes smaller than can be detected by self exam alone. Many women fear the mammogram because of prior experiences with inexperienced technologists, nightmare stories from friends, and a lack of privacy. The experience at MCAI is truly unique, with highly trained professionals using advanced equipment in a spa like atmosphere. Patient privacy is always paramount. A unique feature of MCAI is the opportunity for personal consultation with our female radiologist, available by appointment between the hours of 9 and 4, on M, Tu, Th, F.

For convenience, additional screening appointments without personal consultation are available during evening and weekend hours, with rapid turn around times for results.

Digital Diagnostic mammography is offered to women with breast problems such as unusual pain, lump or nipple discharge. The diagnostic mammogram is often followed by breast ultrasound performed the same day. All patients consult with Dr. Roy for these studies.

ALL PATIENTS SHOULD BRING ANY AVAILABLE PRIOR OUTSIDE FILMS WITH THEM AT THE TIME OF THEIR APPOINTMENT. MCAI WILL RETURN THESE FILMS FOR YOU. FOR MAXIMAL QUALITY PLEASE ASK FOR ORIGINAL FILMS (not copies).
